GALAX made new graphics cards called Boomstar for Chinese gamers only. They come in two colors - the LUNA is all white, and the NOX is matte black. Both cards work the same way inside. GALAX pushed the NVIDIA RTX 5090D chip to run faster than normal at 2,452 MHz instead of 2,407 MHz. These cards need serious power through their special power system built on a thick 14-layer circuit board.
To run these cards properly, you need a very strong 1,000-watt power supply. The Boomstar connects using the latest 12V-2×6 power plugs when drawing its full 575 watts of electricity. Users can hook up several monitors through three DisplayPort connections plus one HDMI port. All these parts fit inside a large card measuring 348 × 155 × 60 millimeters with three slots needed for installation.
GALAX created something really clever with these cards - magnetic parts! The outer cover and back plate stick on with magnets instead of screws. This makes cleaning super easy because you can just pull off the entire fan section without any tools or by disconnecting wires. GALAX says taking these magnetic parts off does not break your warranty, but warns not to do it when the computer is running.
Each new card includes one magnetic sticker you can customize however you want. This fits with the special swappable panel design that makes Boomstar different from other cards. GALAX hasn't said if they will sell extra sticker packs for more customization options. The company hasn't announced how much these cards cost or exactly when people can buy them.
Chinese buyers are the only ones who can purchase these special Boomstar LUNA and NOX models. GALAX confirmed they have zero plans to make regular 5090 versions without the "D" for other countries around the world. This means international customers must look elsewhere if they want similar high-performance graphics power for their gaming or professional computer systems.
