Gaming World Shaken as Borderlands 4 Drops Early

Gearbox Software will release Borderlands 4 earlier than planned. Randy Pitchford shared the news in a video that later disappeared from social media. The game arrives September 12 instead of September 23 because development moves ahead of schedule. According to Pitchford, a game presentation will come very soon. The State of Play event happens on April 30 at 2 p.m. Pacific time.

The early launch affects other game releases this fall. Take-Two Interactive previously stated Grand Theft Auto VI would come out after Borderlands 4. This timing change might clear space for GTA VI to launch during Fall 2024. Fans may see a new GTA VI trailer soon because of this shift. One former Rockstar developer thinks a surprise would help GTA VI succeed more. Borderlands 4 becomes available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
