Goat scheme fraud fuels wild legal drama

Two men named Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe went to court yesterday because they were in trouble. The people who wanted to help the judge make decisions weren't allowed to stay after their lawyers said they shouldn't be there. The judge agreed with the lawyers and told these helpers to leave.

The men had different lawyers working hard to help them. One lawyer, Tapson Dzvetero, worked in one court building. Another, Lovemore Madhuku, went to a different court building to ask if the men could leave jail until their next court day. The second court said they would think about it and tell everyone later.

The police think these men did something wrong with money from a special program. This program was supposed to give goats to people living in small villages to improve their lives. The men needed special papers that said they paid their taxes and followed the rules. The police say the men made fake papers with stamps and codes that belonged to another company.

The police found out the company these men used wasn't real anymore. It had closed down in 2016. The men tried many times to stop the court from looking at what they did. They even said the court wasn't being fair to them, but other judges said that wasn't true. They asked to leave jail because they said things had changed, but the court didn't believe them. The next time everyone will meet in court is Monday next week.
