Health Ministry Calls Out Fake SHA Job Ad

The Ministry of Health called out a fake job notice for the Social Health Authority on Sunday. The bogus announcement listed 28 positions such as human resource officers, social workers, office assistants, accountants, and psychological counselors. This fraudulent notice claimed applications were due April 27, 2025. Scammers often create false advertisements targeting respected organizations like government institutions and parastatals to trick Kenyans. These fake job posts increase alongside other internet misinformation aimed at public institutions.

Sometimes these scammers go beyond fake job listings to damage an organization's reputation. The Technical University of Kenya recently denied false reports about a temporary closure due to money problems. The university clarified that a letter circulating online about the shutdown was completely fabricated. Classes and normal operations continue at the institution without interruption. The counterfeit letter dated April 17 falsely stated that the university would close from April 21 for three months because of financial difficulties. It also incorrectly claimed students and staff would be banned from campus during this period.
