Honor of Kings plans to expand beyond its MOBA roots with a new multiplayer RPG called Honor of Kings World coming later this year. The game lets players combine two different character classes from various combat styles, including melee fighters, magic users, and ranged attackers. Each class features three unique attacks, an evasion move, and an ultimate ability that can create powerful combinations.
During a GDC 2025 preview, the combat impressed with weapons that felt distinctly different from each other. The ranged combat stood out the most, with one class offering a massive gun complete with active reload mechanics. The demo included combat encounters, boss fights, a dungeon with hidden treasures, and environmental puzzles.
The game connects to the original MOBA through its champions and story. Players will start with basic character options and unlock more through gameplay or purchases. The developers plan to add champions gradually, starting with those from the first region. Lead designer Simon clarified that the game will be free to play on PC and mobile with cross-progression between platforms.
Honor of Kings World focuses on noninvasive multiplayer, where players can call for help during difficult fights or use AI companions. The team continues private testing, and no specific release date has been announced. The monetization will center around cosmetic items like outfits and skins rather than gameplay advantages.
