IKBN Miri suspends seven after pole-bashing birthday stunt

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh announced disciplinary measures against seven students following the Miri National Youth Skills Institute incident. The Student Disciplinary Board suspended the participants for one week effective immediately. Additional penalties involve allowance termination, mandatory charity service, regular disciplinary reporting, and restricted campus activities lasting one month. Both perpetrators and the affected student must complete counseling sessions.

Ministry officials conducted independent investigations after the viral video emerged on social platforms. Prevention strategies will enhance student monitoring through expanded complaint systems and quarterly police presentations on harassment awareness. Yeoh presented case developments to Cabinet members during recent discussions. The comprehensive response aims to establish clear consequences while preventing similar misconduct across educational institutions nationwide.
