Indian Institute of Technology Delhi reached its best spot ever at 123rd place. The school climbed from 150th last year and 197th the year before. Companies around the world recognize IIT Delhi graduates as top workers.

IIT Bombay dropped slightly to 129th after hitting 118th last year. IIT Madras made the biggest leap forward by moving up 47 spots to reach 180th place. The school entered the top 200 universities for the first time ever.

Indian schools still struggle to attract students from other countries. Most universities saw fewer foreign students enroll this year. The schools also need more teachers compared to their student populations.

MIT kept its top spot for the 14th straight year. Imperial College London came second with Stanford University third. Oxford University finished fourth and Harvard University rounded out the top five global schools.
