India jumped ahead in worldwide college rankings with 54 schools making the list. The country added eight more universities compared to last year and has grown from just 11 ranked schools back in 2014. India trails only America, Britain and China for total schools on the prestigious list.

IIT Bombay dropped slightly to 129th after hitting 118th last year. IIT Madras made the biggest leap forward by moving up 47 spots to reach 180th place. The school entered the top 200 universities for the first time ever.
