The Yashobhoomi convention centre hosted a major fitness competition on Saturday. HYROX brought its global racing format to New Delhi for the first time. More than 2,600 people joined the event from India and other countries. This number shows a 50 percent jump from the Mumbai race held earlier this year. The competition mixes running with strength exercises like sled pushing and wall ball throws.
Participants can compete alone or work with partners in different categories. Women made up 30 percent of all competitors. Ages ranged from 18 to 75 years old. PUMA India supports the event as a key partner. Company leaders want HYROX to become the biggest endurance fitness event in the country. The race combines eight one-kilometer runs with eight workout stations. Each station tests different muscle groups and fitness skills.
