A peace group finished training local leaders last Thursday at the North Bank Region office. The EU-backed program taught people how to solve problems before they turn violent. WANEP worked with several partners to help people handle disputes better.
Governor Lamin Saidykhan thanked the team for helping the government keep peace. He asked the trained mediators to spread peace messages despite political or religious differences. Peace Network leader Musa Sise said their work builds lasting calm across communities. Area council vice chair Alagie Saho promised support since peace helps growth.
The program taught participants deep knowledge about negotiation, mediation, reconciliation, conflict management, and transformation. WANEP representative Haruna Kuyateh praised everyone for working toward peaceful solutions and urged people to include elders when solving problems. Several other officials from youth chambers, women's groups, and local areas agreed that the training matters greatly.
