Junet Mohamed is pointing fingers at Uhuru Kenyatta's inner circle over missing 2022 election funds. The National Assembly Minority Leader forcefully rejected accusations from ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna that he mishandled money meant for party agents, instead claiming former President Uhuru Kenyatta sent the funds to his brother, Muhoho Kenyatta.
Junet stated that Muhoho delegated the task to a man named Patrick Mburu, who presented himself as an IT expert capable of stopping election manipulation. He emphasized Mburu's ongoing closeness to the former president, noting his recent travel to Nigeria alongside Uhuru and Kalonzo Musyoka. According to Junet, all operations were run from a secured Westlands office that was off-limits to most party officials, including presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
He alleged the group failed to actually recruit or deploy agents for Odinga in critical regions like Mt. Kenya and Luo Nyanza. Junet defended his own loyalty by citing his current role as Minority Leader, a position he says Odinga would not have given him if he were guilty of betrayal. He concluded by demanding that those directly involved explain what happened to the money, arguing that Kenyans should know who truly cost the party the election.
