Kenya's top cop, Douglas Kanja, told officers they must follow the Constitution exactly. He said this helps cut down on bad public reports about police actions. Kanja shared these thoughts during his trip to the Laikipia County Police offices near Nanyuki. Several high-ranking officers traveled with him, including Deputy Inspector Gilbert Masengeli and spokesman Muchiri Nyaga.
Local police leaders Benjamin Bowen and Judy Kinara welcomed the visiting team. Kanja walked through many parts of the station. Later, he sat down with the officers who worked there. He ordered them to read up on both the National Police Service Strategic Plan and what the Maraga group found. He stressed how important it was to keep up with changes as police jobs move to computer systems.
