A politician vows legal payback after a family's murder. Nigeria's Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, called the arrest of three men for killing a woman and her six kids a needed step. The crime happened in the Dorayi Chiranchi area of Kano state.
Jibrin posted on social media, praising the Kano police command for nabbing the suspects. He called it just the start, pushing for a complete probe and a solid prosecution. The suspects must feel the full force of the law, he stressed.
Police named those arrested as Umar Auwalu, Isyaku Yakubu alias Chebe, and Yakubu Abdulaziz alias Wawo. Their listed home areas are Sabuwar Gandu Quarters, Sagagi Quarters, and Sabon Gida Sharada Quarters in Kano.
The senator also shared his condolences with the bereaved family. He offered prayers for the deceased wife and children, asking for peace for them. He wished strength for the surviving husband and father, Haruna Bashir, as he deals with the tragedy.
