Production crews started filming the Malayalam action thriller Kattalan in Thailand after announcing the international schedule on social media. Cubes Entertainments producer Shareef Muhammed follows his hit Marco with this pan-Indian project directed by Paul George and starring Antony Varghese alongside Rajisha Vijayan. The cast features Telugu actor Sunil from the Pushpa franchise and Jailer plus Kabir Duhan Singh and veteran performers Jagadeesh and Siddique in supporting roles.
Three first-time screenwriters, Paul George, Joby Varghese, and Jero Jacob, created the script about power struggles and dangerous assignments. Ajaneesh Loknath from Kantara 2 composed the soundtrack, while Renadive handled cinematography, and Shameer Muhammed edited the footage. Dhanya Balakrishnan designed costumes, and Sharief choreographed action sequences for the production.
