Kenya Cops Team Up with Korea for High Tech Crackdown

Police Chief Douglas Kanja welcomed South Korean Ambassador Kang Hyung-Shik at Kenyan police headquarters on Monday. Their talks centered on making police cooperation between the two countries stronger. They looked at ways to share technology, build skills, and train security forces. Kanja thanked the South Korean government for its help with equipment and expert knowledge. The police chief shared that Kenyan police are making their services better through computer systems.

The National Police Service has started to put their record books into digital form as part of their five-year plan. Kanja wants more teamwork with South Korea because of their advanced technology skills. He thinks this partnership can help fight crimes across borders, such as human trafficking, drugs, terror, and illegal money moves. Ambassador Kang said relations between Kenya and South Korea remain friendly. The Korean community grows larger in Kenya each year as more businesses open.

Both nations work together to keep ships safe at sea and discuss using smart computer systems for defense needs. Kenya and South Korea became friends in 1964. Korea chose Kenya as the first country south of the Sahara Desert to open an official Korean office. Their friendship continues to grow stronger every year.
