Kinyanjui Warns Politicians Against Risking Tea Trade with Sudan

Kenya's trade leader, Lee Kinyanjui, asked politicians to watch what they say about Sudan. He warned their comments might hurt tea sales, which would harm farmers. He spoke after meeting with Ethiopia's trade official about making trade easier between the countries. Sudan buys lots of Kenyan tea, making it an important market that needs protection. Political statements about foreign issues can damage business relationships that help rural communities.

Kinyanjui wants Kenya to stay neutral when neighboring countries have problems. He believes Kenya should respect all nearby nation,s including Sudan. The government wants to keep peace with everyone around them. They plan to build better roads and ports for moving goods across borders. Lamu Port can handle bigger ships than other ports in Kenya.

This port could serve Ethiopian customers better than the current shipping routes. Making this area better for trade will help towns grow in northern Kenya. Similar development happened along the path from Mombasa to Kisumu years ago. Creating this new trade route would change many communities for the better. More business would bring jobs to places that need them.
