The Rotary Club of Masindi awarded Kinyara Sugar Ltd. for helping fund a water system at Masindi Hospital. Company staff picked up the award after a charity run through town this morning. The public relations officer said they feel happy about being recognized for their community support in health, education, and other areas.
Masindi Deputy RDC Sanon Dhaala started the run. Kinyara Sugar protects 2,000 hectares of forests and maintains 2,000 kilometers of local roads. It also runs a medical facility open to everyone and offers health outreach services to nearby areas.
The company provides education at several levels. Its training center offers technical diplomas certified by the UK. It operates a nursery and primary school on site and has started a top public high school. It boosts local primary schools with extra teacher pay and basic supplies like water and food.
