KNUST tapped Sarkodie as an ambassador

Sarkodie has landed a new role as a KNUST ambassador, and he got a special gift to mark it. The Ghanaian rap star was at the Kumasi campus as he geared up for his Rapperholic gig in the city. Students also got a chance to meet him in person.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Christian Agyare gave him a plaque meant for VVIP guests. Its art shows the main gate in the shape of a royal stool, as well as Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The king had given land that helped the school get its start.

Agyare had a clear reason for the move. KNUST wants to be known for more than good grades and top academic work. Having a star like Sarkodie on board fits that goal, as the school aims to build its name far beyond the classroom.

And the student council was keen to get in on the action. Its members gave Rapperholic their full backing and hinted that a lot of students could turn up for the show.

Fans in Kumasi were just as keen. Sarkodie got a warm reception when he reached the city, with the local Rapperholic event drawing keen interest ahead of his live set.
