Marquez and Marini Ready for Sachsenring Return After Injuries

Two injured MotoGP riders prepare for their comeback at the German Grand Prix this weekend. Luca Marini makes his return after missing races for more than a month due to injury. Alex Marquez also heads back to action after doctors fixed his hurt left hand finger. Both riders must pass medical tests with championship doctor Angel Charte before they can race at Sachsenring. The doctor will check them out on Friday morning before practice starts.

Jorge Martin will skip the German race as he continues healing from multiple injuries he suffered during preseason training. The 2024 champion was expected to return but doctors want him to wait longer. Martin will take another medical exam next Tuesday to see if he can race at the Czech Republic Grand Prix on July 20. His team hopes he will be ready for that weekend event.

The Moto3 and Moto2 classes also see rider changes for Germany. Lenoxx Phommara takes over for injured rider Lunetta in Moto3 competition. Taiga Hada jumps into Moto2 action with the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia, replacing Mario Suryo Aji for this race. Hada has not competed in world championship events since 2023. Three other Moto3 riders cannot compete due to injuries. Matteo Bertelle, Ruche Moodley, and Luca Lunetta all sit out the German weekend. Marcos Uriarte, Leonardo Abruzzo, and Lenoxx Phommara will ride their bikes instead.
