Masvingo rings in 45 years of independence

Cold weather didn't stop hundreds from joining Zimbabwe's 45th independence celebrations at Nemanwa Grounds in Masvingo District. The event buzzed with excitement as people gathered at Nemanwa Growth Point, part of the government's plan to spread national events across all regions.

Festivities began around 10 am when the crowd watched service chiefs arrive, led by 4 Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier General Obert Tshuma. Minister Ezra Chadzamira, who served as the guest of honor for the Masvingo Provincial Affairs office, received cheers upon arrival before inspecting the parade. Dr Addmore Pazvakavambwa, Permanent Secretary for Masvingo Provincial Affairs, attended alongside other high-ranking government officials.

The celebration reflects how the Second Republic continues implementing its devolution agenda, bringing important national programs to communities throughout the country. People came despite chilly conditions, showing their patriotic spirit during this meaningful anniversary. The rural location demonstrates the administration's commitment to include all areas in major commemorations rather than limiting them to urban centers.
