A 59-year-old man, whose four-wheel drive gained attention for displaying a Hebrew sticker allegedly reading "Malaysia Our Home," has clarified that he had no ill intentions and was simply interested in foreign languages.
Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the retired civil servant explained he ordered the sticker from a shop in Selangor 13 years ago. He said the phrase was inspired by "Israel Betainu," meaning "Israel Our Home," which he modified to "Malizia Beiteinu" for "Malaysia Our Home."
The man stated he has long been fascinated by different languages, including Greek and Russian, and had no political or religious motive. Police are consulting experts to ensure the phrase carries no hidden meanings.
The incident gained attention after the sticker was shared online, sparking public confusion.
