Mnangagwa in Hot Water Over Memory Gaffes

Zimbabwe might soon remove President Emmerson Mnangagwa from office. Many lawmakers believe he can't handle his job anymore. Blessed Geza, a war veteran and former ZANU-PF Central Committee Member, told the nation about several troubling events during a speech Wednesday night.

Geza shared stories showing Mnangagwa confused at key moments. At the army commander Sanyatwe's ceremony, the president didn't recognize July Moyo, his longtime ally. He asked, "Who is this man?" and "Where does he come from, what does he do?" Recently, Mnangagwa expressed surprise that the national railways weren't running.

The president suffers from vascular dementia, according to Geza. This condition happens when blood can't flow right to brain areas, usually after a stroke. People with this disease forget recent events, feel confused about time and places, struggle with decisions, have speech problems, show personality changes, and face balance issues.

Geza warns that corrupt officials exploit Mnangagwa's condition. They supposedly trick him into signing papers and making government changes for their benefit. Suspicious frequent visits to get documents signed have raised red flags. Parliament members agreed to begin impeachment proceedings, citing Mnangagwa's apparent inability to fulfill his duties.

This situation affects all of southern Africa since Mnangagwa leads the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). He became chairman last August, putting him at the head of all southern African nations.
