Modi forces youth into 152km march for dead leader

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports launched the Sardar@150 Unity March on Monday through MY Bharat to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 150th birth anniversary. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced the two-month nationwide campaign aims to inspire unity and patriotism among youth while commemorating Patel's role in uniting India. The digital phase begins with social media competitions and quizzes for participants aged 15 to 29, with winners announced before Nov. 26.

District-level marches will occur from Oct. 31 to Nov. 25 across all parliamentary constituencies, led by cabinet ministers and lawmakers covering eight to 10 kilometers daily. The national march starts on Nov. 26 and spans 152 kilometers from Karamsad to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, concluding on Dec. 6. A group of 150 young leaders selected through quizzes will participate in the national march, and scholars will conduct evening sessions sharing stories from Patel's life.
