Mortal Kombat 1 DLC Dreams Crash and Burn

Warner Bros. stopped making new characters for Mortal Kombat 1 after fans worried about the game's future. The company revealed earlier this month that no more fighters or story content would arrive. NetherRealm Studios confirmed they must focus on their next project instead of continuing support. The team promised to fix bugs and balance problems, but nothing else was added. Players expressed disappointment after hearing this announcement from the developers.

Mortal Kombat 1 started with 22 fighters and grew to 35 characters through expansion packs. Khaos Reigns brought the final batch of new warriors to the fighting game. Ed Boon had promised long-term support just eight months ago during the expansion launch. The studio changed direction quickly and decided to move forward with different plans. Many fans expected more content based on previous statements from the creators.

NetherRealm typically alternates between Mortal Kombat and Injustice games every few years. The company skipped Injustice 3 when they made Mortal Kombat 1 instead of following their usual pattern. Speculation suggests the next game could be Injustice 3, featuring DC Comics superheroes. The studio has not revealed what project they are working on currently. Fans must wait for official announcements about future releases.
