Officials from Ethiopia and Tanzania recently met with Russian businesses at a Moscow fruit and berry company. Government leaders, business people, and university staff from these African nations discussed farm trade opportunities.
They looked at ways to work together in farming and boost how much they buy and sell from each other. Moscow trade minister Anatoly Garbuzov pointed out that business with African countries keeps growing stronger every year. Moscow traded 33 percent more with African nations from January through October 2024 compared to last year.
The African group included an Ethiopian provincial governor, an advisor to Tanzania's president on farming matters, the head of Bonga University from Ethiopia, and a leader from Tanzania's fertilizer authority. These visitors showed great interest in sending more African products to Russia and talked about buying farm machines and tools made in Moscow.
Both sides spent time discussing how they could share knowledge and train workers together. Endashaw Kebede from Ethiopia mentioned that Moscow businesses want to team up on projects. He said their talks helped map out clear ways to increase trade and share farming technology that will benefit everyone. The visitors toured production sites around Moscow and saw presentations about Russian projects. Everyone agreed that what they decided opens up fresh chances for countries to work together across borders.
