Mudenda follows Mnangagwa to Japan, begging for deals at TICAD 9

Parliament Speaker Jacob Mudenda departs for Japan today following confirmation from Japanese Ambassador Shinichi Yamanaka. The ambassador visited Mudenda at the new Parliament Building in Mt Hampden before announcing the diplomatic journey. Mudenda will conduct his inaugural visit to Japan after President Emmerson Mnangagwa traveled there during July and August. The president attended Zimbabwe National Day at the Osaka Expo and participated in the Tokyo International Conference for Africa's Development. Ambassador Yamanaka expressed hope that these senior-level visits will expand bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

Japanese Parliament Speaker Nukaga Furushiko will host meetings with Mudenda during the diplomatic mission. The Zimbabwean delegation will engage with officials from the Japan International Cooperation Agency and private sector representatives. President Mnangagwa's earlier trip featured the inaugural Zimbabwe-Japan Business Forum, where three cooperation agreements were signed. These memoranda covered tourism, mining, and manufacturing sectors while promoting Zimbabwe as an investment destination. Parliamentary exchanges between the two countries will receive strengthening through these continued diplomatic efforts.
