Museveni tells Busoga leaders to drop their egos or stay poor

Museveni just roasted Busoga leaders for acting like spoiled children while the poor suffer. The president spoke at Iganga Girls’ Secondary School, telling National Resistance Movement officials that their constant bickering blocks economic progress. He warned that egos kill service delivery and poverty reduction efforts across the region.

Internal squabbles apparently got bad enough that Persis Namuganza requested this intervention, yet some big names initially ghosted the event. Museveni noted that Rebecca Kadaga claimed she never received an invite, forcing him to verify that local security officers had actually sent messages through proper channels.

This lack of cohesion in Busoga contrasts sharply with unified fronts seen in places like West Nile or Acholi. The NRM chairman stressed that peace remains their top achievement because it allows markets to function, noting that Banyankore cannot sell milk to themselves without outside buyers.

He explained that East African trade saves local industries since Uganda produces way more sugar and milk than locals consume. Highlighting wealth creation strategies, he pointed to successful farmers using the four-acre model to rake in cash from eggs and mangoes rather than relying solely on handouts.

Anita Among promised the crowd that village chairpersons would see their monthly allowance jump from ten thousand to one hundred thousand shillings. She urged grassroots organizers to maintain message discipline ahead of the upcoming election cycle as the party tries to secure votes through programs like the Parish Development Model.
