NADMO chief backs risk reviews to keep Bono safe

Bono's NADMO Director Fati Kine Lam wants to work with new district leaders to stop disasters before they happen. She asked them to check their areas for possible dangers that might cause problems. Every district faces different risks, according to Lam, who talked with reporters in Sunyani. Her office plans to help local governments create rules that address these specific hazards. They aim to make the entire region free from disasters through prevention.

Lam thinks the Physical Planning Departments play an important role in disaster prevention. She wants everyone working together to prevent people from building structures that block water paths as the rain season approaches. She urged local residents to join community cleanup efforts to clear storm drains and unclog gutters to prevent flooding. Teaching people about preparation remains key to making communities safer from various threats.

The director called for better teamwork between different departments inside local governments. This cooperation helps enforce safety regulations plus local rules across the region. Following these guidelines creates safer communities for everyone living there. Lam believes strong partnerships with district leaders will protect more people from natural disasters throughout the Bono Region.
