Govt on high alert to keep Zimbabwe safe

Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe says security forces are ready across Zimbabwe. He spoke yesterday at a Harare press conference about safety measures. Everyone, including visitors to the country, should feel protected when going about their daily business. The police have sent enough officers everywhere to ensure people stay safe.

The government is aware of illegal threats from certain troublemakers. Kazembe warned these people to stop their harmful activities. Nothing will stop the government from keeping the country secure as required by law. He expressed serious concerns about social media posts, fake press releases, and letters that try to stir up problems.

These illegal attempts aim to gather crowds that would disrupt public order. Such actions threaten the peace currently enjoyed by Zimbabweans. The minister called these efforts selfish and harmful to progress. He urged citizens to reject these messages completely. Anyone leading these campaigns received a stern warning from the government.

The Constitution requires the government to protect national security and borders. Kazembe promised they would fully meet this responsibility. He reassured everyone that security teams actively work to keep the public safe. The police have stationed officers strategically throughout Zimbabwe to allow free movement and business activities.

Kazembe reminded everyone about the laws they must follow. He mentioned Section 164 of both the Criminal Law Act and the Cyber Security Act. These laws deal with electronic messages that cause trouble. Anyone sending messages to encourage violence or property damage will face punishment. The government will enforce these rules strictly.

People who scare, bully, or force others to join illegal activities will face serious consequences. The Police Commissioner will apply the law equally to everyone involved. Kazembe asked law-abiding citizens to report anyone stirring up violence. He provided several phone numbers and other contact methods for reporting such behavior.

Police promise to respond quickly to all reports from the public. Kazembe asked all Zimbabweans to keep following the law. This helps the country reach its goal of becoming an upper-middle-income economy by 2030. The government remains committed to maintaining order throughout Zimbabwe.
