NUP's Nalukoola crushes NRM again in Kawempe North

Kawempe North voters absolutely dunked on the establishment candidate with zero mercy shown. Elias Nalukoola stomped Faridah Nambi to keep that parliamentary seat warm for the National Unity Platform. The district returning officer, Rashid Hashakya, announced that the incumbent pulled over thirty-four thousand ballots while the National Resistance Movement challenger barely scraped together eight thousand nine hundred. That massive gap left the winner leading by nearly twenty-five thousand markers.

Counting procedures felt super sketchy with paranoia running high everywhere. Both camps started pointing fingers regarding stolen ballots and rigged boxes immediately. Authorities flooded the center with extra muscle because fans from opposing sides kept throwing threats around. Everyone worried that physical fights might break out before the final score dropped.

This win tightens the grip the opposition holds over the capital city significantly. They currently control seven out of ten elective spots in Kampala, while the ruling party sits on three. That count actually represents a slide since the previous cycle saw them holding nine slots. The shift means the government recovered two chairs despite getting crushed in this specific showdown.
