Ghanaian rapper Obibini says performers can make good money from rap music if they find their place in the industry. He shared these thoughts during a recent show on Akoma FM called Entertainment 360. The rapper pointed out that half of the top ten richest music stars in Ghana create rap music. He believes success comes when artists pick the right musical style for their rap performances.
Musicians can mix rap with different genres like Afrobeats or Highlife because rap works well with many music types. Some famous rappers have switched to singing instead, which many people think happens because singing pays better. Obibini disagrees with this idea, saying rappers change because writing multiple verses for each song requires serious mental effort. He respects singers but maintains that writing three sections of sixteen lines each demands more brain power than singing does.
