Pandikar Amin is confident in the Pintasan fight

United Sabah National Organisation president Pandikar Amin Mulia expressed strong optimism about capturing the Pintasan seat despite confronting 10 other candidates in the upcoming state election. The veteran politician attributed his outlook to four decades of community engagement and a narrow 84-vote defeat in the previous contest, noting his enhanced preparation and stronger campaign organization compared with prior efforts.

Incumbent assemblyman Fairuz Renddan confirmed his decision to defend the constituency as an independent after resigning from his position leading Gabungan Rakyat Sabah Youth. Fairuz stated that personal principles and dedication to representing young constituents motivated his choice to run without party backing.

The crowded race includes representatives from Perikatan Nasional, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku, Warisan, Barisan Nasional, Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat and Parti Impian Sabah, alongside three additional independent contenders. Voters across 73 constituencies will head to polling stations following advance balloting.
