Rowdy fans shove MP out of stadium at match

People attacked Peter Salasya at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday. The Mumias East MP came to watch the soccer game between Harambee Stars and Gabon, just like many other Kenyans. Videos showed angry young men pushing him toward the exit. He was wearing an AFC Leopards jersey when these unknown youths started the trouble.

Some people threw things at Salasya during the attack. A few fans tried to protect him from the angry crowd. Police stepped in and helped the MP escape from the stadium safely. The mob followed him, and some yelled that he must show respect to Raila.

After reaching safety, Salasya posted the word "noted" on his X account. He explained later that he decided not to fight back against his attackers. The MP wrote that he picked peace instead of creating problems at the stadium. He could have reacted differently but chose not to hurt anyone.

Salasya made it clear this peaceful response might not happen again. He wrote on X that he avoided blood on his hands this time. The MP stated firmly that he had several ways to handle the situation but picked the peaceful path. Next time someone tries to attack him, his reaction may differ completely.
