After signing their cooperation deal Friday, Ruto and Raila stand with powerful allies, including Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang'ula from Western, Hassan Joho, Amason Kingi from Coast, and Aden Duale representing Northeastern areas.
Facing them stands the removed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua alongside Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya. Former Interior boss Fred Matiangi plans to join this group within a month. These competing teams need votes from Western's 2.2 million citizens, Coast's 1.96 million people, and Northeastern's 882,677 registered voters.
The Ruto-Raila partnership might completely secure both Rift Valley and Nyanza voting areas. Their opponents probably control the Central and Eastern regions. Kalonzo opened a Wiper Party office in Malindi and held meetings throughout Mombasa. Natembeya leads the "Tawe movement" against Mudavadi and Wetang'ula across Western Kenya. Wamalwa organized activities mainly around Bungoma County, meeting clan elders, professionals, and religious leaders last Saturday.
