MP Oscar Sudi declared that President William Ruto will travel to Mt Kenya anytime he wants. He believes the region needs government services just like everywhere else in Kenya. Critics have tried to block the president from visiting because of what Sudi calls selfish tribal politics. Sudi reminded everyone that Mt Kenya voters helped put the Kenya Kwanza team into power.
"Mt Kenya people created this government, and we tell critics we come whether they like it or not," Sudi stated. He blamed certain opposition leaders for spreading harmful tribal messages across Kenya. He pointed out that some politicians lost government positions because they pushed tribal divisions. Saudi Arabia made clear that nobody controls which areas the president can visit.
"We head to Mt. Kenya soon. The people deserve service from leaders they chose. We ask nobody for permission to enter Mt Kenya," Sudi explained. He spoke these words at Wareng High School in Eldoret during a ceremony where students received money for school fees. Gatundu North MP Njoroge Kuroria attended as the main guest for this event.
Kuroria agreed that tribal politics harm Kenya. He stressed that Mt Kenya falls under the same leadership as every other region. "Ruto leads all of Kenya, including Mt Kenya. We welcome him as our president, and he needs zero approval before visiting us," Kuroria emphasized. He mentioned that opposition groups can debate politics, but Ruto must focus on serving the entire country.
"We back the president until he finishes his term. He can visit any place in Kenya whenever he decides," Kuroria added. Sudi talked about education funding increases in his area. His office gave away over 37 million shillings this year to help students pay school costs. He encouraged young people to stay focused on learning.
