Sapphire finally put out its NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 16 GB graphics card after missing the March 6 launch date. The company already had its top RX 9070 XT model ready when AMD released the new RDNA 4 line. ITHome reported last week that these cards reached stores worldwide. British shop Overclockers UK sells them for £629.99 with tax.
The new card looks just like the more expensive version, with the same outer shell. It keeps all fancy features, such as Quick Connect MagniPlate, STEALTH hidden cables, 12V-2x6 power connector, Tri-X cooling system, special heat pipes, and Honeywell PTM7950 paste. The main differences show up in speed ratings, with boost clocks up to 2700 MHz and game clocks up to 2210 MHz. Sapphire never explained why this card came late to the market.
The tech site VideoCardz says rumors about a cheaper 12 GB version pushing this card aside were wrong. The Hong Kong maker kept quiet about the reasons. Both cards share the same design but run at different speeds. Buyers can see little physical difference between models despite price gaps.
