Sir Salimullah Medical College has closed campus operations and instructed dormitory residents to return home after consecutive earthquakes raised safety concerns in Old Dhaka. Principal Dr Mazharul Islam Shahin ordered the evacuation to protect anxious students from structural hazards caused by recent tremors that have generated widespread alarm about property damage and personal security throughout the nation.
