Skyblivion Devs Stay Positive as Oblivion Remaster Leaks

A fan project recreating Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion inside Skyrim continues despite news about an official remake. The Skyblivion team has worked for nearly ten years rebuilding the classic game with modern graphics. Recent leaks revealed that Bethesda hired Virtuos to create an official Oblivion Remastered using Unreal Engine 5. Microsoft might release this remake without warning this month. Screenshots appeared online yesterday confirming its existence.

Skyblivion leader Rebelzize responded positively after seeing the official screenshots. He called the situation beneficial for players who can enjoy two different versions of Oblivion soon. The fan developer expressed gratitude that Bethesda allowed his project to continue despite creating their commercial version. His team remains focused on finishing their mod as planned.

The fan-made Skyblivion includes restored content cut from the original game with additional new material. The commercial remake appears more visually advanced but lacks these extra features. Both versions offer different approaches - one emphasizing graphics, the other offering expanded gameplay. Skyblivion remains scheduled for release sometime in 2025 alongside the official remake.
