Snapdragon X Elite Gen 2 May Hit 4.40GHz With 22% Boost

Qualcomm plans to make its next computer chip faster than current models. The company might release a Snapdragon X Elite Gen 2 processor with cores running at 4.40GHz, slightly above the current 4.20GHz speed. This small frequency increase could still deliver up to 22 percent better performance in certain tasks. The improvement likely depends on adding more cores rather than just speed increases.

According to recent information from tech sources, one version of the upcoming chip may contain 18 processing cores. Manufacturing changes should help these faster speeds happen without harming battery life. The current processor uses TSMC's 4nm technology, but the new version might use advanced 3nm methods instead. This smaller size lets chips run cooler with better efficiency.

Rumors suggest this improved processor won't arrive until 2026. Similar technology appears in Qualcomm's phone chips, where test versions reportedly reach 5.00GHz speeds. The company has not confirmed these details officially. Tech experts remain uncertain whether the performance gains apply to single tasks or when running multiple programs simultaneously. More information should become available before the final release.
