SpaceX Starship Test Ends in Strange Blue Flash

SpaceX may face delays with its Starship Flight 9 after a strange blue flash appeared during engine tests. Cameras caught several engines firing for about 30 seconds at the Texas test site yesterday. The test ended with an unusual blue light that signals something went wrong.

The company just restarted testing after taking a break following booster tests last month. SpaceX needs to prove its rockets can restart engines in space as part of the Federal Aviation Administration's requirements. Previous flights with the new second-generation upper stage ended badly in January and March.

Flight 7 exploded after vibrations caused a fire that shut down the engines. Flight 8 failed in what looked like a similar way, but SpaceX has said little about what happened. This latest problem might delay the next launch as engineers look for answers.
