Stranger Things fuels Finn and Djo’s streaming surge

Netflix basically broke when they dropped the new Stranger Things season. The show pulled in nearly sixty million views in its first five days, setting a new record for an English-language series on the platform. That huge audience is now boosting the music careers of two cast members, Finn Wolfhard and Joe Keery, who perform as Djo.

Both artists, signed to AWAL, saw their streaming numbers shoot up immediately after the premiere. Daily plays for Wolfhard's album tripled, while Keery's track End of Beginning jumped over sixty percent, landing a global Spotify top ten spot. Their social media followings also grew by millions. Their label says the growth is worldwide, with notable spikes in markets like India and Indonesia that are new for them.

Management plans to leverage this attention into long-term projects. For Keery, that means possible touring and new music around his existing albums. For Wolfhard, who is newer to his solo career, the focus is on expanding his live shows and releasing more material. The situation echoes past seasons where featured songs, like Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill, became massive viral hits.
