UNEB Denies Exam Malpractice Claims

Uganda's test board says claims of cheating are false.

The Uganda National Examinations Board spoke up today about false stories about cheating in the 2024 national tests under the new teaching plan.

The board made clear these stories were not true. They asked people not to believe what they read on social media about the tests.

Some had said teachers were marking special parts of the tests in the wrong ways. These parts were called "Activities of Integration." The stories claimed teachers gave very high marks when they should not have.

More false claims said many students wrote the same answers. The stories said this meant students must have cheated. They said two out of three students had answers that looked alike.

The test board checked these claims. They found nothing wrong with the tests or marks. They said there was no proof of any bad acts during testing.

The board asked schools, parents, and others to watch out for fake stories. They promised to keep the tests fair and true for all students.
