Vertiv CTO Stephen Liang to retire in 2026 shift

Vertiv announced that Chief Technology Officer Stephen Liang will retire on Jan. 1, 2026, after more than 30 years of service. Liang played a key role in shaping the company’s technology strategy through his work at Emerson and during Vertiv’s transformation. Earlier this year, he narrowed his focus to lead innovation and oversee the firm’s long-term technology vision. His leadership helped establish Vertiv as a leader in digital infrastructure.

Scott Armul will assume an expanded role as Chief Product and Technology Officer, effective January 1, 2026. He was promoted to executive vice president of global portfolio and business units on Jan. 1, 2025. Armul will oversee the Technology Office and lead engineering, research, development, and Vertiv’s business units. This alignment is designed to better connect technology strategy with business goals.

Armul joined Vertiv in 2009 and has held leadership, technical, and customer-focused positions. His broad experience supports the company’s strategy to grow internal talent and build a performance-driven culture. Vertiv aims to meet changing customer needs through stronger integration of innovation and business execution.
