Yunus vows zero tolerance for terrorism in meeting with US envoy

Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus declared his administration maintains zero tolerance toward terrorist activities during discussions with United States diplomatic officials. The government leader emphasized complete dedication to preventing any extremist organizations from establishing operations within national boundaries. Yunus met with US Charge d'affaires Tracey Ann Jacobson at State Guest House Jamuna for forty minutes on Monday afternoon. Their conversation covered bilateral cooperation matters and ongoing trade tariff discussions between both nations.

American diplomatic representative Jacobson expressed Washington's continued support for Bangladesh's institutional reforms and democratic development process. The transition period will conclude with national elections scheduled for early next year. Yunus provided progress reports about the National Consensus-Building Commission's activities aimed at uniting political parties around reform initiatives. Professor Ali Riaz leads the commission members who work toward achieving political consensus. The Chief Adviser praised the commission's performance and commitment to fostering cooperation among different political groups.
