Former Namibia Wildlife Resorts boss Zelna Hengari lashed out at The Namibian newspaper after they asked about corruption claims. ACC deputy director-general Erna van der Merwe told reporters they had already looked into these accusations thoroughly. She confirmed the case was closed last year because investigators found nothing linking Mac Hengari directly to any tender awards. The probe examined claims that Zelna might have awarded contracts to companies that later passed work to businesses connected to her husband. Van der Merwe mentioned the agreement carried Zelna's signature for the Mariental-Heat Construction joint venture.
