Zimbabwe and Pakistan join forces for economic growth

Zimbabwe and Pakistan want to work together more closely across many areas. Both countries aim to make their economies stronger through new partnerships. This became clear when Pakistan's Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Murad Baseer, visited Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri last Friday in Harare. They talked about many ways to build better relationships between their nations.

These two countries have been friends since before Zimbabwe became independent. Pakistan helped train fighters during Zimbabwe's freedom struggle. After Zimbabwe gained independence, Pakistan assisted with training pilots for the new Air Force of Zimbabwe. Their friendship has lasted through many changes in world politics.

Defence Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri thinks Zimbabwe must keep up with new technology, especially artificial intelligence. She said, "We need to look at threats facing our nation regionally and globally. Technology advances faster every day." The Minister pointed out that fighting happens differently today. Countries use drones and advanced systems instead of traditional methods. She explained how attacks can target any nation or person using remote technology.

Ambassador Baseer showed enthusiasm about keeping close ties with Zimbabwe. He expressed happiness about sharing information and finding ways to collaborate. The Ambassador mentioned that Zimbabwe offers plenty of business chances for companies. He believes working together should include training programs and building local skills. Baseer wants both nations to help reach the goals of the African Free Trade Area by 2063.
