The government has finished more than 8000 projects across Zimbabwe since President Mnangagwa took leading in 2017. Information Minister Dr Muswere shared this news during Independence Day celebrations at Gokwe North. These projects include fixed roads, new dams, power plants, school computers, internet programs, and land distribution.
Dr Muswere highlighted the Beitbridge-Harare highway and mentioned that 10,600 dams have been built. Chief Chireya thanked the President for bringing the independence event to his area. The celebrations brought development, including supermarkets, better roads, boreholes, clinics, and schools, to the region.
War veterans are happy about their increased recognition under the current government. Their spokesperson, Cde Mahiya, said this year was special because of a new welfare fund. The government has built houses for veterans and improved their treatment at national events.
The local Zanu PF chairperson, Cde Chihengere, reported that 1726 people found jobs during preparations for the celebration. Youth Minister Machakaire added that young people were happy to celebrate independence as the government has made progress in helping them succeed.
