Jussie Smollett responds to Kendrick Lamar's deepfake in 'Heart Part 5'
Kendrick Lamar used deepfake tech from the South Park guys to morph into various Black figures for his Heart Part 5 video back in 2022, and Jussie Smollett was one of them. The Empire actor had just been convicted on disorderly conduct charges for staging a hate crime in Chicago a few years earlier, and he got sued for over a hundred grand after filing a false police report. Smollett told Cam Newton recently that he has zero beef with Kendrick over the whole thing. He said he respects the rapper as an artist, and he doesn't even know what the deepfake was supposed to mean. The actor settled with Chicago officials and donated to local foundations while refusing to admit guilt or hand over cash.
50 Cent goes off on Diddy ahead of documentary release
50 Cent told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America that his Diddy documentary isn't about their beef, and it drops on Netflix. He said staying quiet would make hip-hop look complicit with the Bad Boy founder's behavior since nobody else was speaking up about it. Diddy got convicted for transporting to engage in prostitution earlier this year. The doc includes unseen clips of Diddy yelling at his lawyers about needing solutions because they're losing, and another moment where he asks for hand sanitizer after greeting fans in Harlem because he touched too many people. 50 said that sanitizer footage reveals Diddy's real character since he forgot cameras were rolling. Alexandria Stapleton directed the four-part series called Sean Combs...
50 Cent teases explosive Diddy doc with new trailer
50 Cent dropped a new teaser for his Netflix docuseries about Diddy, and it shows some wild footage of the Bad Boy mogul freaking out in a hotel room days before cops grabbed him. In the clip, Diddy's on the phone, saying they need someone who handles dirty business because they're losing. The four-part series hits Netflix this week, and 50 appeared with director Alexandria Stapleton on Good Morning America to talk about it. They discussed how Diddy was filming himself before his arrest, which surprised 50 but seemed like a weird PR move to Stapleton. The doc promises never-before-seen material and interviews with people from Diddy's inner circle. It covers his rise as a music mogul and the dark stuff that was happening behind the...
The Game vows revenge in the Celeste Rivas death case
The Game went on The Cruz Show and said he'd kill whoever murdered Celeste Rivas if he were her dad. He was reacting to false reports about the 15-year-old's body being decapitated when cops found her in a Tesla that belonged to singer D4vd back in September. LA police already cleared up that her body wasn't actually decapitated or frozen as some outlets claimed. Captain Scot Williams explained that she was in the trunk for weeks during the summer heat, and the frozen theory doesn't even make sense. They're looking at D4vd as a possible suspect, but he hasn't been charged with anything yet, and he was on tour when they discovered the body.
Rick Ross vs. Nardose, DMs drama heats up fast
An Instagram model named Nardose Mesfin posted screenshots showing Rick Ross DMing her with thirsty messages, and she used it as a warning for other women about celebrities sliding into their inboxes. She claimed attention from famous people means nothing, and she even went off about how Black men will use you and toss you aside, while rich white guys are at least generous. Ross clapped back hard by showing receipts that she's been tagging him in her Stories since 2022, and he called her out for lying about who messaged who first. He posted their text thread where he told her she's got a bad body and isn't his vibe. Nardose doubled down by saying he's community property, and she's got bigger names hitting her up anyway. Ross recently...
Kanye drops new Yeezy pieces, but drama still follows
Kanye dropped some budget-friendly Yeezy gear for Black Friday, with pieces going for under a hundred bucks on the site. The usual suspects are all there, like hoodies and jackets, and he's been pushing this whole affordable angle for a minute despite everything going on around him. Meanwhile, leaked audio showed his ex-chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, apparently telling a fired Yeezy worker to sue because Kanye's supposedly headed for bankruptcy. Milo later claimed on Twitter that he was just trying to mess up what he called a shakedown attempt, and he even said he'd testify for Ye if it goes to court. The dude's been pretty quiet lately besides the occasional apology for his antisemitism stuff and announcing some shows. His album...
Hotplate Grillhouse’s assets seized over US$27K chicken debt
A canteen operator at the Manhize steel works got hit with property seizures after dodging a $27k bill to former top cop Oliver Chibage, who runs a chicken supply business. The debt traces back to hundreds of birds plus vegetables and beef products that Jola Chickens delivered to Hotplate Grillhouse's operation inside the Dundon facility in Mvuma, and the company tried claiming everything showed up rotten because it wasn't refrigerated properly during transport. Court papers show Hotplate and its director, Benson Muneri, signed a settlement deal to pay monthly installments with 10% interest tacked on, but they ghosted the first payment deadline. Chibage's lawyers argued the goods-received vouchers never mentioned quality problems when...
Zvimba council plans US$24M budget, tackling debt and growth
Zvimba Rural District Council just dropped their $24 million spending plan for next year, and the finance committee chair told people in Murombedzi they want better water access, fixed roads, and upgraded health and school buildings. The whole thing lines up with national development goals, but the council keeps getting wrecked by residents who can't afford to pay what they owe because the economy is brutal right now. Land fees pulled in the most cash during the current cycle, with development levies bringing 26% of revenue and administration charges adding another 22%. But the council admits they got shorted on expected transfers from the national government and road grants, which stalled projects and might keep causing headaches as...
Teachers tackle drug abuse in schools, taking control of prevention efforts
Twenty-five teachers from Chitungwiza just wrapped up a weeklong crash course on dealing with student drug problems, and Youth Aspire Development Trust ran the whole thing with help from the education ministry and the UN's drug office. The educators came from government and private schools all over the area, like Seke, Zengeza, St Mary's High, and Nyatsime College, with each spot sending their health coordinator to make sure this prevention stuff actually sticks around long-term. Police victim units, city health workers, and ministry welfare staff all showed up to teach detection methods, classroom tactics, behavior fixes, and proper referral systems for kids who might be using. Teachers left feeling ready to train student peer...
