PSI Audio stacks up power, meet the seven-driver beast
PSI Audio just dropped their first extended main monitor setup by pairing the A326 D-REX with the A226-MAIN for a seven-driver beast that hits 132dB. The A226-MAIN already packs dual 10-inch woofers and covers 20Hz to 23kHz on its own, so the company says the D-REX unit doesn't really count as a sub. Instead, it adds three more low-frequency drivers to boost headroom rather than push deeper bass, though there's an LFE mode that reaches up to 160Hz if needed. Both units are shipping right this second, and you can stack them vertically or set them side by side, depending on your room. Pricing comes through authorized dealers, and PSI says a version with separate electronics is coming down the line.
Rema throws shade as Ayra Starr’s NY move sparks whispers
Rema apparently got in his feelings after Ayra Starr confirmed she moved to New York and dropped some Bible-adjacent shade about how people switch up their whole crew once the bag arrives. The Mavin Records artist posted something about loving your neighbor until money shows up, and suddenly everyone changes neighborhoods, which got people thinking he was lowkey calling out his labelmate for bouncing to America. Ayra Starr caught wind of the post and hit back with a short comment asking him to wait up, which just made the whole situation blow up even more on social media. Fans started dissecting whether there is actual beef between the two stars or if Rema was just feeling some type of way about his friend dipping overseas after...
Edward Akwasi Boateng fights back, ex-wife wants half his house
Gospel artist Edward Akwasi Boateng says his ex-wife Genevieve hit him with court papers demanding half his Kumasi house and full custody of their four kids after they split up five years back. The dude claims she already returned the bride price from their wedding, but the legal drama kicked off right after he went to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, trying to finalize the divorce because the whole Daddy Lumba family mess spooked him. Genevieve apparently thinks she deserves half the property since the house got built while they were married, and she helped him lock down a loan for construction. Edward is pushing back hard, though, saying he paid for everything with cash from his Ade Mepe hit song plus donations from Ghanaian celebs...
Prophet predicts big moves, Stonebwoy eyes Grammy and film
Some prophet named Telvin Sowah Adjei is out here saying Stonebwoy is about to blow up globally with a Grammy win and even land a track in some international movie dropping next spring. The guy went on Okay FM and claimed the film placement will kick off massive worldwide recognition for the dancehall artist, plus he will supposedly link up with Hollywood people like Will Smith. Stonebwoy already locked in his reputation across Africa with bangers like Activate and Into the Future, and his recent EP called The Toucher, has people thinking he might actually have a shot at a Grammy nomination. Prophet Telvin has made predictions before about Ghanaian football results and political stuff, so apparently, this is just what he does.
Mzbel spotlights Accra’s shifts, Ga music carves its own lane
Mzbel dropped some real talk on Aluta FM about how Accra's music scene has completely shifted because the city is not just Ga people anymore. She pointed out that Akan speakers and other groups make up most of the population these days, which means Ga-language tracks still hit hard with Ga listeners but have a tough time crossing over to everyone else, like they used to back when Ga indigenes ran the whole capital. The 16 Years singer is still pushing artists to make genuine stuff that represents their culture and wants fans to respect the city's multicultural vibe while staying connected to their heritage. She basically said Ga music has its unique flavor, and people should appreciate what the diverse scene brings instead of sleeping...
Imrana fires at MTN Ghana, Sun City fest promo disrespects star
Imrana went off on MTN Ghana after they apparently botched the promotional materials for some Sun City Music Festival and made him look like a nobody. The rapper says he told organizers beforehand not to put him on billboards or flyers in ways that trash his reputation, but they went ahead anyway and completely ignored what he asked for. The Imagine Say artist is basically saying he has put in serious work to build his brand across Ghana and deserves way better treatment than what he got. He pointed out that Sunyani is basically his territory, where he runs the music scene, and people need to recognize him as a major player instead of treating him like some random starter artist. Dude is clearly heated about the whole situation and...
Miss UG car saga rolls on, SRC says prize was road-ready
Some former SRC rep named Nii Adjetey went on Hitz FM and basically said the Miss UG winner is being sketchy about her prize car situation. He claims the council was totally down to fix the vehicle after she complained about mechanical problems, but then she asked them to bring it back to her place instead. The kicker is that people apparently spotted the same car getting driven around campus lecture halls the next day, which seems pretty weird if it was actually broken as she said. Adjetey is pushing back hard on the whole narrative that the SRC messed up, saying they handled everything transparently and were just trying to help fix legitimate issues the winner brought up.
West Africa drug fight shifts gears, minister calls for unity
Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak told a regional conference in Accra that West Africa is getting hammered by synthetic drugs popping up everywhere and cocaine trafficking routes constantly shifting around. The Asawase MP said Ghana is going with a three-part plan that covers better operational readiness, drug treatment programs focused on people, and tighter cooperation between agencies and neighboring countries. Mohammed-Mubarak pointed out that residents across the subregion want actual results from leadership instead of just hearing fancy speeches about the problem. He emphasized that intelligence sharing needs to get way stronger, and cross-border enforcement has to step up because the drug market keeps evolving faster...
New media stars hit the field, Ghana Games spark fresh bonds
The New Media Association of Ghana is throwing its first-ever gaming event at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon, bringing together bloggers, influencers, content creators, and digital journalists for some networking mixed with competitive activities. President Eugene Osafo-Nkansah said the whole thing exists to unite people who usually grind solo in the new media world, and it will let them build relationships while getting brand visibility and partnership opportunities. Entry is free, and the lineup includes football, athletics, arm wrestling, tug of war, and other team-based stuff designed to get everyone working together. The event is also supposed to help corporate types and creative industry folks connect with digital...
