Kevin Liles cleared, old deal shuts down new claims
A judge tossed out sexual assault accusations against music exec Kevin Liles after finding out the accuser had already gotten paid to drop similar claims back in the day. The woman claimed Liles assaulted her when he ran Def Jam in the early 2000s but apparently signed away her right to sue when Universal Music Group cut her a check for around 47k years ago. The settlement paperwork from way back had language that basically covered any beef she might have had from working there and getting fired. The judge ruled that blocked her from coming back with the same story against Liles personally. The case got dismissed permanently and she cannot refile it. Liles denied everything from the jump and said he treats people right, especially women.
Lightning frees the clamp, Masvingo crowd buzzes
A red car owner in Masvingo walked away scot free after lightning allegedly zapped a council clamp right off their vehicle outside Tsungai Complex Building. The bolt apparently smashed part of the building first before hitting the parking enforcement device with freaky precision. Witnesses mobbed the driver afterward, while spooked municipal workers refused to grab their wrecked clamp until cops basically forced them to clean up the mess. Online reactions split hard between people claiming witchcraft and others pointing to basic physics about electromagnetic pulses expanding metal. Some users cracked jokes about bringing the same energy to Bulawayo clampers, while skeptics called the whole thing a boring fraud since anyone can just...

A Zimdancehall artist got arrested after ghosting a gig and allegedly pocketing the booking fee. The performer called Madedido was supposed to show up at a family event in Rimuka but never made it to the venue. The promoter Pride Makazhu Chihoro ended up reporting the situation after losing around 940 bucks on the failed show. Police tracked down the 23-year-old musician at his place in Seke Unit M and brought him in on fraud allegations. The case is under investigation while authorities try to figure out if he intentionally scammed the organizer. People online are roasting both sides. Some are calling out professionalism problems in the Zimdancehall scene, while others are questioning why anyone would book this particular artist in...
Raza reigns supreme, Zim finds its cricket crown
Zimbabwean cricket star Sikandar Raza just hit the top spot in ICC T20 all-rounder rankings for the first time. The guy has been absolutely crushing it with both bat and ball all year, carrying his team through tight situations and basically becoming the face of Zimbabwean cricket on the global stage. His ranking proves Zimbabwe can produce world-class talent even though it doesn't get the same attention as the bigger cricket nations. The Chevrons have been looking way better lately with stronger batting depth and improved bowling discipline. Raza's success is pumping up the whole squad and giving younger players someone legit to look up to as they try to compete with higher-ranked teams.
Wicknell Chivayo drops cash, but strings steal the spotlight
Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo just dropped a million bucks on his old primary school right after the education minister said schools can take money from politically connected people. The catch is wild, though, because he wants the new dorms named after President Emmerson Mnangagwa and First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa at Dudley Hall Primary School in Norton. He picked specific construction companies for each building and wants the cash sitting in a trust account managed by certain law firms, who get an extra 50k for handling it. The whole thing came with super detailed instructions about everything from the architects to how staff should dress when picking up a donated school bus. Minister Torerayi Moyo had basically given the...
Proteas crush India, Bavuma ends 25-year wait
South Africa just pulled off something massive by beating India in a Test series on their home turf for the first time since 1999. Captain Temba Bavuma became the first Proteas leader to win there in over two decades, breaking a record that had stood since Hansie Cronje's era. The team wrapped things up with a ridiculous 408-run victory in the final match. Bavuma kept his squad locked in through pressure moments and made gutsy calls that paid off. Coach Shukri Conrad backed him up with aggressive tactics that caught India off guard. The whole squad played with serious intensity and everyone contributed when it mattered most. This series win basically cements Bavuma's status as one of the elite captains in Proteas history. South Africa...
Doc Khumalo picks SA’s finest, legends never fade
Doctor Khumalo sat down with Robert Marawa and dropped his picks for the greatest South African footballers ever but couldn't keep it to just three names. The legend started with Ace Ntsoelengoe for technical ability, then added Jomo Sono because of his creative mind and Lucas Radebe for leadership that made waves internationally. He kept going, though and threw in Phil Masinga for scoring power plus Shoes Moshoeu because the midfielder had serious flair. South African soccer history goes way deeper than his list. Benni McCarthy killed it in the Champions League, while Steven Pienaar did damage across Europe with slick playmaking that had fans going wild. Mark Fish brought solid defense to big tournaments and Siyabonga Nomvethe played...
Zim fraudster jailed, fake papers fuel R1.6m CFO climb
A Zimbabwean guy got busted in South Africa after running a wild fraud scheme that landed him a fat CFO gig paying over R1.6 million per year. Kudakwashe Mpofu bought a fake permanent residence permit for around 160 bucks and used it to score executive positions at North West Development Corporation, plus he grabbed cars like a Land Rover and a BMW with the phony papers. The whole setup fell apart when Home Affairs got tipped off and investigators found a bunch of forged documents dating back to when he was five years old. Mmabatho Regional Court dropped a three-year sentence on him with another three years suspended as long as he stays clean. Special Investigating Unit found fake work permits and exceptional skills visas that let him...
Khama Billiat melts hearts, daddy duties steal the show
Khama Billiat just showed his wholesome dad side by throwing his daughter a birthday bash with flowers and a road trip. The ex-Kaizer Chiefs player posted about it on Instagram and got pretty emotional about watching her grow up, which hit different for fans who usually see him being aggressive on the pitch. The footballer basically proved he cares more about family time than anything else. His Instagram caption talked about wishing his kid happiness and success, while the celebration itself kept things low-key and personal instead of flashy.
